Camden to host 8-team Easter Tournament

CAMDEN — Eight area high school teams will be participating in the 2024 Albemarle Easter Tournament hosted by Camden County High School on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday.

Teams participating in the tournament include the Camden County Bruins, Currituck County Knights, Eastern Christian Homeschool Trailblazers, Gates County Red Barons, Hertford County Bears, Northeastern High School Eagles, Pasquotank County Panthers and Perquimans County Pirates.

Opening-round games will be played on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. with Perquimans taking on Camden. The second game will begin at 1 p.m. when Pasquotank takes on Eastern Christian Homeschool.

Game three will feature Hertford versus Currituck at 4 p.m. The final game of the day will be Northeastern against Gates at 7 p.m.

On Monday the first two games will feature the four losing teams from Monday’s games. The loser of game one will face the loser of game two at 10 a.m. The loser of game three will meet the winner of game four at 1 p.m.

The winners’ bracket games begin at 4 p.m. on Monday when the winner of Saturday’s game three facing the winner of game four. The final game of the day at 7 p.m. will feature the winner of Saturday’s game one versus the winner of game two.

The seventh place game will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday and will feature the loser of game five against the loser of game six. The fifth-place game will begin at 1 p.m. and feature the winners of games five and six. The third-place game will begin at 4 p.m. and will be between the losers of games seven and eight.

The winners of games seven and eight of the tournament will play for the championship Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $10 a day and the ticket is good for every game that day.
