We saw rainfall track along the Nebraska and Kansas state line this morning. Showers will continue to wane through the afternoon. Heavy rainfall led to Flood Alerts being issued in Southwest Nebraska. However, many of these alerts have been allowed to be cancelled early. Furnas County in Nebraska remains under a Flood Watch until 7am.
Maywood FFA experiences great growth over the decade
For the past 10 years, the Maywood FFA chapter in Frontier County, Neb. has seen tremendous growth as an individual chapter. Chartered in 2010 as the West Central Chapter, Maywood spent the first four years competing with students from Paxton, Sutherland and Wood River. As ag education in Nebraska has continued to grow, all of these schools now have their own chapters.
Broncos qualify in three events at record-setting district
Wednesday’s D-7 district track meet left its mark for its performance and uniqueness. The girls 100-meter dash not only saw a state record set by Cambridge’s JoLie Farr, but also had all eight finalists qualify for the state meet, including Wauneta-Palisade’s McKenna Doetker. Besides the two automatic qualifiers, the other six runners in the final claimed all six of the Class D additional qualifiers.
