    Camarillo sweeps titles at Coastal Canyon League Swimming Championships

    Camarillo High won both team titles at the Coastal Canyon League Swimming Championships at the Rancho Simi Aquatic Center on Thursday.

    The Camarillo boys finished first with 369 points. Royal finished second with a 236, followed by Oak Park (221), Thousand Oaks (214), and Moorpark (12).

    The Camarillo girls won the title with 390 points. Thousand Oaks was second with 268, followed by Oak Park (199), Royal (70), and Moorpark (50).

    Paul Patterson broke the school record and league record in the 100 freestyle with a time of 47.47 seconds and also won 100 breaststroke in 59.05 to lead the Scorpions boys team. Patterson, Jackson Mulchay, Kalani Martin and Stefano Pozzi set a school and meet record in winning the 200 freestyle relay in 1:29.27. Ben Butler, Pozzi, Martin and Patterson won the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:20.04.

    Royal's Aneesh Veeravatnam was a double champion, winning the 100 butterfly in a meet-record 51.24 and the 100 backstroke in 52.45. Veeravatnam, Daniel Wong-Moon, Matthieu Fresco and Thomas Shea won the 200 IM relay in 1:40.86.

    Oak Park's Pablo Ingrum was also a double winner in the boys meet, taking first in the 200 freestyle in 1:48.14 and the 500 freestyle in 4:55.01. The Eagles' March Yuan won the 200 IM in 1:59.16 and Elliott Drottar won the 50 freestyle in 21.77.

    One individual champion and three relay victories led the Camarillo girls team to first place. Lila Gomez Smith won the 100 butterfly in 1:05.08. Penny Lovstedt, Analee Lam, Smith and Carissa Clay won the 200 IM relay in 2:03.49. Carissa Clay, Olivia Cash, Alexis Clay and Lexi Richardson won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:50.35. Richardson, Kyla Kitchen, Smith and Lam won the 400 freestyle relay in 3:56.04.

    Moorpark's Chloe Cheevers won two league titles, taking first in the 200 IM in 2:16.92 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:07.73.

    Caroline Bi of Oak Park was a double champion, winning the 50 freestyle in 25.15 and the 100 backstroke in 59.80.

    Zara Dragoi won the 200 freestyle in 2:07.31 and Hanna Denson won the 500 freestyle in 5:55.23 for Thousand Oaks.

    Royal's Faith Marshall won the 100 freestyle in 58.06.
