Monroe PD seize over 10 pounds of narcotics during drug bust; suspect arrested
MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) — On April 24, 2024, at 2 PM, officers of the Monroe Police Department received information from a confidential informant that a male subject just obtained a large amount of narcotics to sell. Authorities were advised that the narcotics were delivered to the Mary Lee Apartments on Desiard Street.

$400K grant to Southern Railroad Commission expected to benefit Monroe economically
MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The Southern Rail Commission received a $400,000 grant from the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) through the Interstate Rail Compacts (IRC) Fund to help expand and improve passenger rail service throughout the Southern United States, which includes the development of the Dallas to Atlanta passenger train that will run through the City of Monroe and other areas along I-20. The grant will be used to support the administrative and planning responsibilities of the SRC.
