City of Metropolis, library leaders react to making national headlines
METROPOLIS, Ill. — Metropolis Public Library made national headlines Tuesday night. The NBC Nightly News story uncovered months of controversy surrounding the library. That controversy first started in January, when the library adopted the Illinois library system act. Shortly after, people claimed attempts of book censorship by then-Director Rosemary Baxter.
