The expanded order, signed on February 16, 2024, establishes a task force to further this cause.

Cherokee Nation Teams Up with DISH Network and Others to Boost Broadband Access in Our Rural Areas
The Cherokee Nation has partnered with DISH Network, Go Long Wireless, and RS Access to acquire 100 megahertz of the 12.2 GHz band for broadband connectivity. This partnership, led by Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr., aims to improve connectivity in the Cherokee Nation Reservation's rural areas. The tribe will receive 100 MHz of this band, subject to Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approval.
