Project ECHO Homeless Shelter Sadly Announces The Passing Of Executive Director, Lori Heron
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – The Board of Directors of Project ECHO Homeless Shelter is sad to announce the passing of their Executive Director, Lori Heron. For 30 years, Lori served as the house manager/ Executive Director of Project ECHO. When she started, it was a small shelter for 8 people on the grounds of St. John Vianney Church.
Charles County Youth Orchestra Presents Two Concerts On June 8
LA PLATA, Md. – Spend this Saturday with the Charles County Youth Orchestra and enjoy two different concerts. The first concert will be at noon at ArtsFest at the Village Green in Indian Head. Students from all four of CCYO’s ensembles: Prelude Strings, Encore Band, Encore Strings and the CCYO will perform fiddle tunes, the 1812 Overture, Ode to Joy, as well as music by Pachelbel, Handel and music from “The Avengers”.

Shore Legal Access recently bid goodbye to its Winter 2024 Sandy Brown Public Interest Interns, Daisy Holder, of California, Maryland, and Lydia Shreves, of Easton, Maryland, who spent the last three months learning firsthand the ins-and-outs of providing free legal assistance to residents of the Eastern Shore facing civil legal issues like eviction, bankruptcy, and divorce.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced earlier this spring that the Popes Creek Waterfront Park Living Shoreline Design was one of 22 recipients of funding through the federal Coastal Zone Management Act.
