Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was fatally shot in the neck during a party at his home in Monrovia, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said Monday.Police responded to the 700 block of West Duarte Road at about 9:23 p.m. after receiving a call about a man found shot to death, according to the LA County Sheriff's Department. Firefighters airlift man to safety after falling 30 feet down seaside cliff in San Pedro
Firefighters airlifted a man to safety after he fell dozens off feet down a seaside cliff in San Pedro late Sunday evening. The incident was reported at around 9:15 p.m. in the "Sunken City" area, located in the 4000 block of S. Bluff Place, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. They say that the 21-year-old man injured his back in the fall and he was unable to get back to safety on his own. Along with the helicopter. land and sea units were called to the area for the rescue. SkyCal was overhead as the man was hoisted into the LAFD rescue helicopter from the ground. The victim's condition is not immediately known as he was flown to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
235 pounds of meth seized from house used as Airbnb in San Gabriel Valley
Police seized more than 200 pounds of methamphetamine from an Alhambra home being used as an Airbnb over the weekend. Officers were sent to the 1400 block of Ethel Avenue after a cleaning crew found boxes inside of the home, according to a Facebook post from the Alhambra Police Department. "Upon arrival, officers located approximately 235 pounds of methamphetamine," the post said. Investigators reviewed RING camera video from the location and caught the suspects using a U-Haul truck to transport the drugs. "While officers were at the scene, the U-Haul van returned to the location, saw your APD, and quickly made a U-turn, thinking they would get away," the post continued. Both suspects, who have not yet been identified, were arrested a short time later and booked for transporting narcotics. No further information was provided.
