Fern Roselle (Baker) Patten, 88, of Buffalo, was born April 9, 1935, and died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023. She is survived by her children, Teresa Patterson of Buffalo, Steven Patten and his wife Jodi of Elkland, and Bryan Patten and his wife Tammy of Fair Grove; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2023, in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home in Buffalo with Bro. Terry Gentry Jr. officiating. Burial was in Church Grove Cemetery near Buffalo under the direction of Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Church Grove Cemetery Fund and donations can be left at the funeral home.

Lebanon Warming Center needs volunteers
Colder temperatures have returned and so has Lebanon’s Warming Center. But, Amber Meredith of the Free Store Ministry, who heads up the warming center program, said the center is desperately in need of volunteers. Meredith said if it is forecast to be 32 degrees or below in the overnight hours, the warming center is activated “as long as we can find volunteers.”

City Council makes changes to purchasing policy
The Lebanon City Council approved changes to the city purchasing policy at its meeting Monday night. According to an agenda addendum by Finance Director Katt Gill, superintendents are now being given authority to approve up to $2,500 and the City Administrator will be able to approve purchases up to the current $10,000 limit, including capital purchases and contracts up to the $10,000 cap after review by the city finance department.

On November 27th, 2023, the Lebanon City Council made several decisions in its regular meeting. The council passed Bill No. 6605, supporting plans for street improvements on Morgan Road and a new extension on Granite Lane. The goal is to improve driving conditions, boost economic development, and create a more walkable city. The bill also aims to enhance semitruck access on Evergreen Parkway and connectivity from Ivey Lane to Nelson Park and Sports Complex.
Multiple purchases for Lebanon departments were approved by City Council
Lebanon City Council, last night(mon), approved purchases and agreements for multiple departments. Council approved an agreement with Lamar for billboards to be located on I-44, on the Grand Glaize Bridge at the Lake of the Ozarks, and in Springfield. According to Tourism Director Rebecca Rupard the total cost is $18,642 with the expense being paid in FY 24 and FY 25. Lebanon City Council approved the purchase of a truck chassis for an F550. Purchasing Agent Jessica Meiners explains the details of the purchase.
