Isolated thunderstorms in the Concho Valley are possible this evening, but much more likely on Thursday. Forecast models suggest strong to severe storms will form Thursday morning between San Angelo and Abilene, possibly as early as 8am and move south and east through the eastern Concho Valley. Round number two of storms is then expected Thursday evening between 6pm and midnight. Hazards from the severe storms include large hail, isolated tornadoes, damaging wind in excess of 60mph and localized heavy rain which could cause flash flooding. Bottom line, monitor the weather closely starting Thursday morning. After the Thursday storms, several days of dry and hot weather, near 90 Friday but 100 or hotter Saturday through Tuesday.

Hospice of The Big Country to host butterfly release memorial ceremony
On Saturday, June 1st Hospice of The Big Country (HOBC) will host an open event for anyone in the community who is grieving the loss of a loved one. The memorial service will be held at Festival Gardens in Nelson Park will feature a butterfly release. HOBC will do a group release and later each family will get their own butterfly to release privately in the park. The ceremony will be followed by a picnic lunch.
