Kankakee Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Wanted Man, Tased Twice by Police
Kankakee, IL – Kankakee City Police arrested 19-year-old Jaylin James on Tuesday morning after a traffic stop in the 300 block of South Hillcrest Ave. James, wanted on an outstanding warrant, fled and resisted arrest, leading to police using a taser twice to subdue him. Despite being tased, James managed to remove the taser prongs during the struggle. The incident required several officers to bring him into custody.

Illinois teen charged with fatal Pettis County crash scheduled for 2024 trial
An Illinois teen charged in a fatal Pettis County traffic accident is scheduled for a jury trial. Maggie Stewart, 19, of Coal City, Illinois, was driving on Highway 65 just north of Sedalia in May when she struck a SUV driven by Robin Wallace, 60, of Sedalia. According to court records, Wallace had the right of way and was turning off of Rebar Road onto Highway 65 when she was hit.
