Dog snatched from Brooklyn home in broad daylight: NYPD

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – Police are searching for a man who they said took a dog from the yard of a Brooklyn home last month, according to the NYPD.

The incident happened on March 18 at 9:30 a.m. near Jerome Street and Pitkin Avenue. A 74-year-old woman let her dog, a Shih Tzu named Romeo Rivera, out for a bathroom break, according to authorities.

Speed limit in NYC set to be lowered to 20 mph

A man was caught on video taking Romeo from the yard, police said. He was last seen running southbound on Jerome Street toward Pitkin Avenue, according to authorities.

The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect on Friday.
