Mother arrested after removing child from hospital against medical advice
PITTSBURG, Kan. (KOAM) - This morning, Pittsburg Police responded to Ascension Via Christi Hospital for a medical emergency involving a three-year-old child.The child's mother, Maryum A. Tahirkheli, 31, left the hospital with the child against medical advice.According to authorities, officers searched for Ms. Tahirkheli and the child, eventually locating Ms. Tahirkheli at her residence. She refused to open the door, prompting officers to enter. The child was later found at another residence and taken back to the hospital.Ms. Tahirkheli was arrested for misdemeanor child endangerment and is held without bond. No formal charges have been made at this time.
