Nevada Fire stop fast-moving blaze near Vernon County Square
NEVADA, Mo. (KOAM) — Monday afternoon tipsters told us of a large fire just north of the Vernon County Square in Nevada.
Nevada firefighters moved quickly to bring a structure fire under control
Nevada, MO – Nevada firefighters responded to a fire Monday afternoon. The fire was located north of Vernon County square on the 200 block of east locust. Firefighters were able to contain the fast-moving blaze. The investigation is ongoing into what started the fire. The Red Cross has stepped in to assist the residents displaced by the fire.

Kansas man accused of attempting to sell fentanyl
WICHITA, KAN. – A federal grand jury in Wichita returned an indictment this week charging a Kansas man with drug trafficking and firearms crimes. According to court documents, Horace R. Wright, 40, of Pittsburg is charged with one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, one count of possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute, and one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
