Culbertson School, RCSO Respond To Social Media Threat
The Culbertson School was made aware of a threatening social media post Wednesday, April 24. School administrators issued the following statement April 29: “In the evening hours the school administration was made aware of a threat made on social media indicating potential harm toward others in school. School administration immediately began working with the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s [Office]. Within hours on Wednesday evening the Roosevelt Sheriff’s [Office] determined that the social media account was a fake and made by another individual. This determination along with other factors led deputies and administration to deem it safe to hold school on Thursday, April 25. Two deputies were present at the school on Thursday, April 25, from 7 a.m. until after 9 p.m.
Senior Bronc Bilquist Is Headed To Texas
Bainville High School senior Bronc Bilquist told the Community News that he’s planing on heading to Kilgore College, in eastern Texas, a few hours from Dallas. The 19 year old said he plans to pursue a nine month certification program for specialization in corrosion technology. The program will prepare him to carry out corrosion work at the technician level. Bilquist said he will be traveling with pal Reid Anderson, who will also be studying at Kilgore. “I’m really looking forward to tacos,” Bilquist said.
Youth Clinics Planned For May
Creator’s Game and Spotted Bull Recovery Resource Center are hosting several clinics for youth May 2427. A horsemanship clinic with instructors Emma Gourneau, Clarice Smoker and Jon Eagle Sr will be held at the Poplar Saddle Club Arena May 24. A horse culture presentation will be made by Donovan Archambault Sr. Registration for the event begins at 8 a.m. Ages 5-18 are welcome. An evening family game night and fishing event is planned in conjunction, starting at 6 p.m. Event contact is Jason Gray Hawk at 406-768-3852.
Bainville Competes At Glendive Track Meet
Bainville High School’s girls accounted for 21 points at the large Glendive Shriners’ track meet on Friday, April 26. Elsie Wilson came through with a best of 16-11 in the long jump for second place. The junior placed fourth in the triple jump at 34-1, fourth in the 100 at 13.05 and fourth in the 200 at 27.45.
Culbertson Track Athletes Compete At Lambert
Culbertson’s track athletes struck for 28 points in the boys’ division and 24 in the girls’ events during the Richey/Lambert Invitational held on Thursday, April 25. Destiny Thompson put together a strong meet for the Cowgirls. The senior captured second place in the javelin with a mark of 106-1 and took third in the shot put with a best of 32-4.
Poplar Golfers Finish In Top 10 At Scobey Meet
