Severe weather rolled through the capital area Monday night. Fallen trees littered roadways, and some homes were damaged by falling limbs. As you make your normal commute to work or school Tuesday morning, you'll likely see debris littering the ground. Several schools in and around Baton Rouge were also closed for the day while power outages resolved.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Today’s Forecast: Quiet weather continues today, with plenty of sunshine and highs topping out in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees. A more active pattern returns to the area from late Thursday into Friday. Initially, a warm front lifting inland on Thursday will trigger scattered showers and t-storms. Best rain chances during the afternoon and early eveing look to be near and west of metro Baton Rouge. Beyond Thursday evening, forecast confidence trends lower, with a couple of models, the GRAF & HRRR, now showing a storm complex arriving late Thursday night into predawn hours of Friday.

PRAIRIEVILLE - Residents in Prairieville spent Tuesday cleaning up the mess that Monday night's severe weather left behind. A tree split a home in half, generators are being used as the source of power and back-porches were ripped off. One family couldn't even make it to their home because of debris blocking the roadway.
Deputies looking for driver after stolen truck hits Baton Rouge home
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office is searching for the driver of a stolen truck that struck a home in Baton Rouge early Monday morning. After a month of searching for defensive tackles, LSU added a commitment Wednesday night from Grand Valley State transfer Jay’viar Suggs. Suggs announced his decision on social media, giving the Tigers another option on the defensive interior as they try to strengthen the position.
