BRISTOL, R.I. (WPRI) — A 19-year-old woman was arrested last week following the death of her 2-month-old baby, Bristol police announced Tuesday.

Trista Thivierge has been charged with child endangerment and obstruction of an officer, according to police.

First responders rushed to her Bayview Avenue apartment early Friday morning shortly after receiving a call about an unresponsive infant.

Police said Thivierge’s baby was found laying on the bedroom floor and was eventually pronounced dead.

Thivierge was taken into custody following an investigation into the cause of her baby’s death, according to police. She was released on $10,000 surety bail pending her next court date, which is scheduled for Wednesday.
