BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WBOY) — Friday was a special day for a certain World War II veteran in Bridgeport as she celebrated turning 100 years old.

Antoinette Marie McClung was a Seaman First Class in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. During Friday’s celebration, she was joined by her family, caretakers and representatives of the VA who presented her with a Quilt of Valor and a VA Secretary Challenge Coin. McClung was also given a mailbag full of birthday cards from local elementary schools.

“I’m just so thrilled that I wanna cry,” McClung said.
