Las Vegas 3rd-grader has art printed on billboard near airport
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - A Las Vegas third-grader has her art work on display near Harry Reid International Airport!. Evelyn Hernandez, a third-grader at Gene Ward Elementary School, now has art on display. The art was selected in reference to the semester’s theme, “Springtime in the Desert,” showcasing the appreciation for “unique landscapes” in our area.
Exercise program for Down syndrome assists UNLV research on movement
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — People with Down syndrome experience physical difficulties that can make it more challenging to live an active lifestyle. Researchers at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas CArdiovascular Research and Exercise Lab (CARE Lab) are attempting to assess how a lower heart rate, a feature of Down syndrome, can impact people’s ability to move and exercise.
