NBA Community Feels Awful for Dejected Celtics Fan After Viral Game 1 Moment

The Boston Celtics' come-from-behind victory over the Indiana Pacers in Game 1 of Eastern Conference Finals has nearly everyone in the NBA world talking this Tuesday night.

That includes LeBron James - who took a not-so-subtle shot at Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle after the game for his continued unwillingness to foul while up by three points late in regulation.

But while Celtics fans as a whole reset their emotions ahead of a pivotal Game 2 at home later this week, one Boston supporter has caught the attention of NBA fans on social media this Tuesday night. During Game 1, a video posted to X (formerly Twitter) by user @tallmaurice showed a Celtics fan getting his drink slapped out of his hands during a commercial break.

The viral moment has the NBA world feeling awful for the clearly dispirited Celtics fan.

NBA fans are thinking about the viral Celtics fan after Tuesday's opener to the 2024 Eastern Conference Finals.

"nooooooo," one fan replied.

"Give the man a free beer damn it," Billy said.

Here's to hoping that he got another drink as a result of the chaotic moment.

The Celtics and Pacers will return to TD Garden for Game 2 later this week.
