Where will you be when the solar eclipse happens on Monday, April 8?

To find the path of totality, you will need to venture north to Vermont and New Hampshire. Check out our guide to visit Burlington, if you are heading that way.

If you plan to stay in Massachusetts, then you’ll get to experience a partial eclipse. Viewers can expect to see the dark side of the moon for
about four minutes . The eclipse process begins around 2:30 p.m. at the Texas-Mexico border, traveling across the US and ending in northern Maine at around 3:30 p.m. For us here in the Bay State, it’s expected to get dark at ~3 p.m.

Keep in mind the next total solar eclipse won’t be until August in 2044. Here’s how you can take advantage locally:
    • View Boston is offering a ticket discount from 1 to 5 p.m. to take your viewing party up above Boston. Admission will be $10 during that limited time + guests will receive special eclipse glasses.
    • Grab tickets to Total Eclipse of the Park for a ride out to Spectacle Island from 1 to 5 p.m.
    • Deck 12 will host a watch party from 2 to 5 p.m. The seaport rooftop lounge is free and open to the public, plus enjoy enjoy half priced apps with the purchase of a drink.
    • Head to Charlestown for a watch party at The Anchor from 2 to 3 p.m. Let the celebration begin early with themed food and drinks specials. Bonus: Glasses will be available for purchase.
Pro tip: Don’t forget to order your glasses to watch the eclipse wherever you are.
