Fall River waterfront parking lot slated to open this week
Visitors to Fall River’s waterfront restaurants and attractions will no longer have to struggle to find a parking spot. The Fall River Redevelopment Authority announced this week that the new 113-space parking lot at 45 Anawan St., which was acquired by the RDA on July 17, is slated to open Thursday, Oct. 29. Plans are for the 2-acre parcel situated between the Maritime Museum and the Gates of the City, with an entrance off Water Street, to temporarily become a free parking lot until December 2026, according to previous reporting. The addition of the lot will “greatly enhance access to the many attractions and amenities along Fall River's central waterfront,” reads a press release from the city of Fall River. It offers a convenient parking option for patrons of nearby restaurants such as Primo on the Water and dining spots along Ferry Street, concert-goers headed to the Narrows Center for the Arts, locals attending Gates of the City events, and families spending time at Battleship Cove (where visitors can also utilize the Heritage State Park lot) and more.
