Bloomfield is back in action on April 2, when it visits Caldwell University in a key CACC doubleheader. The first game begins at 3 p.m. Bloomfield's next home game is on April 4, at Clark's Pond, for a doubleheader opposite Post University, in another CACC game, with the first game at 3 p.m.

Cruz replaced Phil Delgado as Bloomfield's coach in 2024, after Delgado left to become the new head coach at Felician University.

The Bears have received good pitching from Danielle Walters, a senior, who had a 6-4 record and 1.75 ERA heading into the game at Caldwell. Rayn Romero, Jocelyn Moody, Jillian Holmes and Kate Juskiewicz have also done a good job in the circle.

Moody, a sophomore, has also been swinging the bat well, with a .315 average, two homers and 13 RBI, including a grand slam.

Sierra Albritton leads the team in hits, with 21, while Raelyn D'Onofrio, Walters and Moody had 17 hits each. Naya Olacio had 15 hits and Anna Wilson, Spencer Ventura and Daniela Vidal were tied with 11 hits each.

The next few weeks should give a good indication of whether the Bears cane make the CACC playoffs this season.
