FARMINGTON, N.M. — A Farmington police officer is on paid administrative leave after being arrested by San Juan County law enforcement. Court records show officer Robert Shuttleworth, 29, left a crash he was involved with on State Road 516 on Thursday, Feb. 15. He was off-duty and driving his children when San Juan County Sheriff's Office deputies pulled him over.
Farmington businesswoman faces federal fraud case
A Farmington woman and business owner was indicted by a federal grand jury Tuesday on charges of violating the Federal Oil and Gas Royalty Management Act and wire fraud. Teresa McCown, 55, was the owner of M&M Production and Operation Inc. and Shoreline Oil & Gas Co., which are “in the business of extracting oil and gas from land leased to the companies by the federal government, the Navajo Nation, and by the Jicarilla Apache Nation and both companies sold extracted oil and gas to refiners,” according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

A Farmington man was arrested Feb. 20 in connection to a Feb. 10 shooting in an apartment in the 2900 block of La Habra St. Blaine Aaron Yazzie, 27, was charged with a fourth-degree felony shooting at a dwelling or occupied building for reportedly shooting “bullet holes in the ceiling and walls of his apartment.” One bullet entering a neighboring apartment and almost hitting a child, according to the affidavit for arrest warrant.
