Showers and storms likely this afternoon!
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - We saw a lot of rain for Mother’s Day and we look to continue that trend going into this afternoon. More showers and storms are expected later today with the potential for the storms to become severe. The greatest chance for severe weather appears to be in areas to the south and east. The enhanced risk has been moved outside of our forecast region and now everywhere south of I-30 is under a Slight risk for severe weather. The main threats of these storms remain damaging winds and large hail with the secondary threat for flash flooding and/or heavy rainfall.

Suspect allegedly shot ‘other woman,’ SPD investigates
According to the Shreveport Police Department, Saturday morning the suspect allegedly went to her boyfriend’s residence and found him with another woman, which resulted in shots fired. SPD stated the victim was transported to a local hospital, and the suspect fled the scene.

Tracking arrest information from the four largest cities in Louisiana provided varied results in terms of transparency. SporTran getting new phone system after repeated loss of service, calls on providers to address problems
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - SporTran will be switching to a new phone system on Monday, May 13, after reported ongoing disruptions. SporTran says they experienced episodes of phone issues and downed service for eight weeks in 2023. This year, they say the phone lines have been downed sporadically and leaving them unable to estimate a return to service.
