Grand Jury Indicts Shooter for Attempted Murder of Unborn
David Sharrod Thomas has been indicted by a grand jury for attempting to kill an unborn child inn 2021. Thomas, 36, is being held under no bond. His address was listed in court documents as 4712 Andrew Jackson Hwy., Chadbourn. Indictments charging Thomas with attempted murder of an unborn child and possession of a firearm by a felon were returned May 8.

Runaway Said Raped; Two Charged
Two men from the Chadbourn area are being held under no bond after allegedly helping a teenaged girl run away from home. She was later allegedly raped by one of the men. Aldo Ismael Esparza, 20, and Gabriel Venegas Zuniga, 28, both of 49 Birchwood Trail, were arrested May 14 by the sheriff’s office. Esparza is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and second degree kidnapping. Zuniga was held for statutory rape of a child and second degree kidnapping.
