WHITE OAK, N.C. (WECT) - The White Oak Fire Department recently received an improved ISO rating from the North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal, according to a WOFD announcement. White Oak FD received an ISO Class 6 rating, improving from its 9S rating, which it had for 41 years.

WHITEVILLE, N.C. (WECT) - A water outage is affecting a portion of Whiteville Thursday morning, May 2, according to Whiteville Emergency Services. “The City of Whiteville is currently experiencing a water outage on North Thompson Street between College Street and Church Street. Water service has been interrupted for the immediate area. Crews are on scene now working to repair the leak. Water service will be restored as soon as possible,” the announcement states.
