Fire destroys garage east of De Soto
A fire destroyed a garage in the 3900 block of Fountain City Road east of De Soto on Thursday night, Feb. 22, De Soto Rural Deputy Fire Chief John Scullin. He said the De Soto Rural Fire Protection District got a call at 11:30 p.m. about the garage fire, which was endangering the attached single-story house. A crew of firefighters had just returned to the firehouse after spending five hours battling a large brush fire in the Richwoods area in Washington County. Because of that, it took firefighters only nine minutes to arrive to the call.
