Historic power numbers a credit to WVU’s deep lineup
Overall, the 2024 Mountaineers haven’t been as productive at the plate as the 2023 WVU lineup. Last year’s West Virginia baseball team scored nearly 100 more runs and rapped roughly 100 more hits than this year’s batting order while also striking out less frequently. There is one...

Taking a look at the top WVU performances over the last decade according to professional scouts. Back in the spring of 2020, COVID reared its ugly head, all sports were canceled, and there was no definitive answers on when anything was coming back. Here at EerSports, that led to a lot of stories around this time that were more 'evergreen' or at least not related to what was happening at that exact moment.... because nothing was happening, sports-wise, at that moment. Some of those stories are outdated. Some were obviously meant to just fill space. But a few I felt like we could go back to and rehash every couple years.

WVU knows best: History insists there's work left to do
Pardon the phrase, but this is about baseball. In fact, it's about West Virginia baseball, which is experiencing deja vu all over again. The Mountaineers entered the final series of the regular season in a curious if not concerning position. Conventions considered them to be in the field for the NCAA Tournament, but it's not a lock. Not with no fewer than five games to go. Not with history insisting this isn't over.
