BISMARCK, ND ( KXNET ) — The felony trial for 16-year-old Taryn Hohbein’s alleged killer, Corbin Lampert, continues.

On Thursday, the courtroom heard the testimony of a juvenile, with the initials C.P.

C.P. was at the apartment when Taryn was shot, and after fleeing the scene, was arrested. The state’s attorneys played the recording of law enforcement interviewing C.P.

In the interview, C.P. said, “I know for a fact, Corbin shot the gun.”

Later on in the interview, C.P. broke down when describing seeing Taryn slide to the floor after the gunshot was heard and repeatedly asserted that Lampert had done it.

However, when questioned by attorneys about the details of that night, C.P. continually responded, “I don’t know.”

When defense attorney Justin Balzer asked C.P. if they remembered being interviewed, C.P. responded “No,” citing lack of remembrance due to heavy intoxication.

The last thing C.P. remembered was being handcuffed.

Balzer then asked him, “Tell me if I’m wrong, but standing here today, you can’t recall anything that happened on June 25 after a certain point, because of how intoxicated you were?”

C.P. responded that Balzer’s statement was correct.

Lampert’s felony trial is scheduled to last six more days.
