5 arrested, 7 vehicles seized in Birmingham street racing operation

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — Five people were arrested and vehicles and guns were seized as part of a crackdown on exhibition driving and street racing in the city of Birmingham.

According to the Birmingham Police Department, the arrests were made throughout the weekend of April 12 and is part of an ongoing operation to curb exhibition driving titled Knight Rider.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the operation.

Birmingham residents call for more action against exhibition driving

Before is a full list of those arrested, the charges they face and the vehicles recovered:

  • Jalan Oneal-Brown, 24, charged with felony attempting to elude
  • Sha’Marrionne Knott, 23, charged with exhibition driving, felony attempting to elude, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Additionally, three firearms were seized.
  • Cordarius Morgan, 22, charged with receiving stolen property. One handgun seized.
  • Janiyah Miles, 20, charged in connection with motor vehicle burnout. One handgun seized.
  • Jordan Shakeel, 23, charged with felony attempting to elude. One handgun seized.

  • 2023 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Black (stolen)
  • 2022 Grey Chevy Camaro (stolen)
  • 2016 Dodge Charger SRT Purple (stolen)
  • 2016 Ford Fusion Silver
  • 2009 Black Dodge Charger
  • 2013 Silver Infinity G37
  • 2014 Lime Green Dodge Charger

The Birmingham Police Department said the operation is expected to continue into the upcoming months.
