St. Mary’s robotics team goes to Dallas for international competition
The robotics team from St. Mary’s in Alexandria traveled to Dallas last month to compete in the International Robots Education & Competition’s world robotics championship. It’s the largest robotics tournament in the world, according to team advisor Tom Rowe. More than 1,500 teams representing 57 countries were there for the competition.

Ohio woman pleads guilty to leaving ‘death threat’ voicemail for Michigan rep.
An Ohio woman pleaded guilty this week to leaving a race-based and politically motivated death threat to a Michigan state representative in 2021. On Wednesday, May 15, Sandra Bachman, 61, of Batavia, Ohio, pled guilty in Ingham County to charges after making a death threat to then-Michigan state representative Cynthia Johnson in June 2021. Bachman pleaded guilty under a plea agreement reached with the state.

Fayetteville, Ohio — The Fayetteville FFA chapter hosted its annual banquet April 17, to celebrate the accomplishments of its members and recognize the active community. The chapter recognized Danny Grant with an Honorary Membership Degree. The chapter also recognized Tisha Wolfer for her outstanding effort and dedication to the chapter. Members were recognized for earning FFA degrees, proficiency awards, Star Awards and more. To end the evening, the new officer team was installed. It includes President Warren Murphy, Vice President Landon Huber, secretary Cole Gauche, treasurer Josie Pfeiffer, sentinel Isaak Adae, reporter Gracie Grant and student advisor Maya Murphy.
