STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) — Mystik Dan’s nose victory in the 150th Kentucky Derby drew 16.7 million viewers, the biggest audience for the race since 1989. Viewership peaked at 20.1 million from 7 to 7:15 p.m. EDT on Saturday, when 18-1 shot Mystik Dan, Sierra Leone and Forever Young hit the wire together in the Derby’s first three-horse photo finish since 1947. That marked the biggest peak audience ever for the Derby on NBC.

Golf Earns a Win, Girls’ Lacrosse Takes an Overtime Loss
The North Haven girls’ lacrosse team traveled to Berlin for an out-of-conference tilt on April 27. For the second time in three games, the team fell in overtime. The Nighthawks jumped out to an early three-goal lead with goals by seniors Cat Bianchi, Sydney Pitcher, and Nola Coyle. Berlin recovered, but North Haven held an 8-6 lead at the half. Junior Emily Shea was stellar in the net, making an incredible 20 saves over the course of the game. She was assisted with strong defensive efforts by seniors Malika Gazzarapu, Kylie Pollard, and Ava Chagnon.
