Buchanan softball falls in state semifinals
EAST LANSING, Mich. (WNDU) - The Buchanan High School softball team saw its amazing season come to an end on Friday afternoon in the Division 3 state semifinals. The No. 3 Bucks fell short of making their second state championship appearance in program history after falling to No. 4 Evart 8-3 at Secchia Stadium on Michigan State University’s campus.

Four Eddies named All-District
Edwardsburg High School baseball players Ryan Buck, Zac Zache, Payton Bookwalter and Brody Schimpa have been named to the Division 2 All-District baseball team. This past season, Buck batted .368 with 16 RBIs, Zache hit .447 with two homers and 30 RBIs, while Bookwalter batted .358 with two homers and 22 RBIs. On the mound, Schimpa finished with a 6-0 record and a 1.56 earned-run average.

Watervliet 9, Lumen Christi 1: The Titans ran out of comebacks in the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 3 state baseball finals against Watervliet. Lumen Christi committed five errors in the loss, but the future looks bright according to Coach Phil Clifford. “We have a nice mix of players coming back … should be loaded for the next few seasons.” Lumen Christi ends the season with a 30-11 record. Nathan Hinkley knocked in the only run for LCCHS with a single in the fourth inning.
