Superior Public Library Starts Up Summer Reading Programs
SUPERIOR, Wis. — The Superior Public Library has officially started up their summer reading programs. The programs are for all ages. This is the first time the library has had an adult summer program. For the kids they will track reading minutes and give prizes along the way to encourage them to keep going. And for adults, if they read 5 books, they will be entered into a drawing to win a gift card.
Flooding reported in some areas of the Northland
Following heavy rain overnight, the National Weather Service had a Flood Advisory in place for Pine County in Minnesota, and Douglas, Burnett and Washburn counties in Wisconsin through Monday afternoon. According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, one area of concern is state Highway 48, between Hinckley, Minn. and Danbury, Wisconsin.

The Northland Foundation and the young people serving on its Youth In Philanthropy Program Board have awarded 14 grants totaling $13,045 to projects within the geographic area that the foundation serves. SUPERIOR, Wis. — After nine months of hard work, four interns are ready to start work after completing Project SEARCH Superior – Essential Health. Friday saw the graduation of four interns who have completed Project Search. Project SEARCH is a transition-to-work program that aims to help adults who have barriers to employment become work-ready. Elderly Duluth man seriously injured in random violent attack at grocery store
DULUTH, Minn. — An elderly Duluth man is recovering from serious injuries following a random and violent attack inside a grocery store restroom. St. Louis County prosecutors have charged Lance Alexander Tolbert with first-degree attempted murder in the incident, which left the 81-year-old victim with a skull fracture, broken hand and multiple lacerations and puncture wounds.
