A lot of people don’t know that America’s first oil well was drilled right here in Pennsylvania in 1859. The oil boom that followed brought thousands of Americans west, helping rapidly grow the state’s economy and population. Titusville, the home of the first well, was a mere 250 people in 1859. Within five years of the new well, the population grew to over 10,000 people. Neighboring Pithole went from four log-cabins to a city with more than 50 hotels.

OCEAN PINES, MD - A Pennsylvania man with an active warrant was arrested after attempting to flee and drive without a license in Worcester County. On May 16th, an Ocean Pines Police Department officer observed a subject known to him as John Pasquariello driving on Mumford's Landing Road in Ocean Pines and initiated a traffic stop. Verizon receiving $13.5 million to bring high speed internet to Somerset County
Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority has approved $204 million in Broadband Infrastructure Program grant awards to 53 projects in 42 Pennsylvania counties. “Too many Pennsylvanians don’t have the high-speed internet they need to do their homework, support their small business or stay connected with loved ones. Thanks to the American Rescue Plan, we’re changing that,” said U.S. Sen.
