The Mastick Road Connector Trail opened to the public on April 25, improving the connection between the city of Fairview Park and the Rocky River Reservation. BEACHWOOD: A ceremonial groundbreaking was recently held for the construction of the school district’s new Bryden and Hilltop elementary schools. They will be built close to the sites of the current Bryden and Hilltop buildings on Bryden Road and Hilltop Drive, respectively. The current buildings were both constructed in the 1950s. Earthwork, including installation of fencing, construction roads, grading and utilities, is about to begin in force and carry into August, when construction of the new schools will start. Building construction is expected to be complete in December 2025, with students and staff moving into the new schools in January 2026. Demolition and removal of the original buildings will then begin as permanent drives, parking lots, blacktops, playgrounds and fields will be installed.
