Scam victim drops $30,000 cash into bitcoin machine: Pepper Pike Police Blotter
A resident in his 70s reported May 15 that the day before, his computer froze, followed by a pop-up message on his screen claiming to be Microsoft technicians ready to assist. He said he called the number and was persuaded to withdraw $30,000 cash from his bank in North Royalton, where staff reportedly tried to stop him, saying that it sounded like a scam.
