BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Community partners gathered on Thursday to celebrate the opening of the new Parenting & Behavior Support Center in Beckley.

The center will work to fill critical service gaps for families throughout the Raleigh County area and foster a stronger, healthier community.

“Our goal is pretty simple. We want to keep more children in their homes and provide more parents with the support and resources that they need to succeed,” said Home Base Inc. Executive Director, Damon Carter. “This is our way of investing in the health and strength of our community.”

Home Base Inc. is a behavior health and social service agency which has been active in serving children and families throughout West Virginia since 1999.

Staff and members of the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce were joined by Alex Hewitt from the Offices of United States Senator Joe Manchin to offer remarks on behalf of the senator with regard to the opening of the center and its anticipated positive impact on the community.

The introduction of the Parenting & Behavior Support Center is part of a statewide rollout to ensure the availability of accessible services across all 14 of West Virginia’s Home Base Inc. locations.

Hosted by the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce, this week’s ribbon cutting event was sponsored by the Academy of Careers and Technology.
