Dry weather sticks around for weekend
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - After overnight and morning showers, high pressure is building in leading to much drier weather. With that being said, it is feeling a little sticky because of dewpoint temperatures in the mid to upper 50s. Overnight we will likely see fog form as temperatures fall into the upper 50s. The high pressure will lead to a great day with bright sunshine and highs in the mid 80s. The first half of the week will be similar with highs in the mid to upper 80s with Tuesday being just shy of 90 degrees. With the warm weather and dewpoints in the low 60s, we could see some isolated thunderstorms bubble up in the evening for both days.

Rain returns to end off the week
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - After waiting for the sunshine to return Thursday afternoon, we will unfortunately have to say goodbye to it once again. Cloud cover and rain will be returning to the Mid-Ohio Valley this morning and stick around through the rest of our Friday. Our morning commute will start off on the dry side, so it may trick some people in forgetting to bring the umbrella or rain jacket. The showers should be across all the Mid-Ohio Valley before 8 a.m. this morning. Rain will continue to be likely through the morning and then become a bit more scattered before noon. Activity will mostly be scattered through the afternoon before picking up again in the evening. Some heavy downpours will be possible and lead to some ponding on the roadways. Localized high water issues will be possible, but widespread flooding is not in the cards. The risk for heavy downpours will be very spotty.
