Chilly and sunny Leap Day
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - After a period of active weather on Wednesday with rain and winds, the cold front finally passed by during the afternoon. Temperatures quickly plummeted as a result. In fact, looking at temperature data from the Mid-Ohio Valley airport, we saw a 30 degree drop in temperatures from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday. That is where we started at 68 degrees and then dropped to 38. Now, as we wake up this morning, we are looking at temperatures in the mid-20s. It is not as windy as yesterday, but a light breeze around 5 to 10 mph will keep our wind chill values in the teens to low 20s through the morning. So, hopefully you have not put the winter coat away just yet. And yes, it was probably tempting to put the coat away since we are looking at the 70s coming back over the next few days.
