The City of Bartlesville announced a temporary road closure that will affect traffic flow on Adams Boulevard, creating potential delays for drivers on Good Friday.

The westbound lane of Adams Boulevard, stretching from Dewey Avenue to Johnstone Avenue, will be closed to traffic to facilitate the replacement of a chiller unit at the Bartlesville Public Library, located at 600 S. Johnstone Ave.

The closure is scheduled to commence at 7 a.m. on Friday, March 29, and the lane is expected to reopen later the same day, either in the afternoon or early evening, once the project is completed.

Crews will be on-site to manage the installation of the new equipment, necessitating the lane closure for the safety of the workers and the public.

The Bartlesville Public Library's chiller replacement is a critical infrastructure upgrade that will ensure the facility's HVAC systems operate efficiently and reliably. This project is funded by the 2020 G.O. Bond, which was approved by voters in August 2020.

Motorists planning to travel through the area on Friday are advised to seek alternative routes to avoid delays.

The city has suggested that drivers avoid the area, if possible, during the lane closure.
