ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – Escanaba will not move forward with legalizing chicken keeping within city limits. Thursday evening, Escanaba’s City Council considered a draft amendment to the zoning ordinance that would allow limited chickens and ducks to be kept in the city, with the exceptions of roosters and the invasive Muscovy duck.

Winter parking regulations in effect in Escanaba
ESCANABA, Mich. (WLUC) - Winter parking regulations went into effect in the city of Escanaba on Dec. 1, and Escanaba Public Safety hopes to eliminate any remaining confusion. EDPS posted large signs on the four main roads where drivers enter the city limits. The signs inform drivers of two primary regulations within city limits. Parking is allowed only on the north side of avenues or on the west side of streets.
DNR finds 14 illegal bear-baiting barrels in Upper Peninsula forest
MENOMINEE COUNTY, MI – Four people were cited after an illegal bear bating investigation in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. According to an official Department of Natural Resources report from late fall, the incident occurred after an investigation by conservation officers John Kamps, Jackson Kelly and Steve Sajtar in Menominee County’s Spalding Township.
