$1.1B budgeted for Virginia early childhood education
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - $1.1 billion. That’s how much money Virginia included in the compromise budget for the next biennium early toward early childhood education. “This is the first time that we’ve seen funding levels as high as they are,” Senior Director of Early Education for United Way of Greater Charlottesville Meredith Locasio said. “The bipartisan sponsorship from the governor and the general assembly is a huge historic win for early education.”

CHARLOTTESVILLE (WVIR) - Time to prepare for what experts think will be one of the busiest Atlantic hurricane seasons on record. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predicts that between 17 and 25 named storms will brew up during summer and fall, with 8 to 13 of those storms achieving hurricane status and four to seven of them becoming major hurricanes.
