Double shooting in Northwest Baltimore leaves one victim dead, another injured

Baltimore Police are investigating a Monday morning double shooting in Northwest Baltimore.

Shots rang out in the 4700 block of Garrison Boulevard around 10:53am.

On scene officers discovered an unidentified man and 36-year-old woman suffering from gunshot wounds.

The man later died, while the woman is expected to survive.

WMAR-2 News spoke with a community leader about the shooting.

Mable Gordon believes crime in Baltimore is getting out of hand, fearing the summer could be worse.

"Summertime is coming. Where are these kids going to play? Where are they going? What are they going to get into if they don't have some activities to curb this violence going on," asked Gordon.

She added the violence leaves people fearful to live in the city.

"Citizens don't want to get involved because they're afraid because something may happen to them. That's part of the problem. They don't trust the police. Police need to get out their car but I understand they're afraid to cause they're getting shot," said Gordon.
