Hillsborough County could add 500,000 residents by 2050: Officials
PLANT CITY, Fla. - With the new construction popping up around Tampa, a lot of the growth will focus on areas outside of downtown, according to the latest long range plan. Plan Hillsborough expects half a million people to move to Hillsborough County by 2050. Hillsborough will continue to be the most populous county over the next 25 years, attracting more jobs and people.
Former UFC fighter killed in motorcycle crash on Gandy Bridge in Tampa
TAMPA, Fla. — We now know the identity of a 33-year-old Tampa man who died over the weekend in a fiery motorcycle crash on the Gandy Bridge. Geane "La Pulga" Herrera, a former UFC and Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship fighter, was killed when he crashed his motorcycle into the back of a Jeep, his family confirmed to 10 Tampa Bay. Florida Highway Patrol troopers said Herrera was going "at a very high rate of speed."
