Jenny talks (and reminisces) on the impact of live music. I fell in love with live music at my first concert when I was ten years old. A family in our neighborhood invited me to the Amy Grant show at our city’s largest arena. My parents had a couple of Amy Grant albums and I put them in our family CD player as often as I could, interchanging with Garth Brooks and Pure Moods (it was the ‘90s after all). I couldn’t believe my luck that I would be going to a real live concert. I was a perfectly awkward ten-year-old in between childhood and adolescence, with an in-between haircut. I was shy but tried to act cool, and a concert was the epitome of cool.
I-29 ambulance fire and multi-vehicle crash
RICHLAND COUNTY, N.D. (KFYR) - North Dakota Highway Patrol troopers say a South Dakota ambulance caught fire on Saturday on I-29 near Colfax. Troopers say both EMTs and the patient were able to safely get out of the vehicle. The patient was transported by another ambulance service to Sanford Hospital in Fargo.
Overtime heartbreak in section final for Knights
The St. Michael-Albertville boys’ lacrosse team was in a groove headed into the section final against Moorhead. After dispatching Big Lake/Princeton during the Section 8 quarterfinals, the Knights handled Monticello 16-7 in the semifinals. The reward for their efforts was a road trip to Moorhead High School on June 6. STMA hosted Monticello two days earlier on June 4. Man arrested after motorcycle chase in Fargo
FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - A Wyndmere, North Dakota, man was arrested after a chase in south Fargo on Monday night. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy tried to stop 23-year-old Andrew Vasquez around 8:00 p.m. on June 10. The deputy was in the area of 32nd Avenue and University Drive South when they saw Vasquez popping wheelies on his motorcycle.
