Greenville Tragedy Leaves Teen Dead, Another Injured
On Sunday, December 3rd, the Greenville Police Department responded to a distressing incident in the 600 block of East McCorkle Circle. Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims—a devastating scenario involving an 11-year-old male and a 17-year-old female. The male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was swiftly airlifted to another medical facility for urgent treatment. Tragically, the 17-year-old female was pronounced dead at the scene by the Washington County Coroner’s Office.

Police Investigate Fatal Shooting on Mekhi Road
In the early morning hours of December 2, 2023, the Greenville Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the 1500 block of Mekhi Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of 24-year-old Jakell Hines in front of a local business, bearing an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. Emergency services rushed Hines to Delta Health Systems, but sadly, he was later pronounced dead.
