On Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at approximately 5:50 am Knox County Deputy Jeremiah Williamson responded to a complaint of a man acting suspiciously in the Legacy Ford Dealership parking lot on Cumberland Gap Parkway in Corbin. When Deputy Williamson arrived at the dealership, he observed a man - later identified as 20-year-old Matthew E. Gray of Corbin - attempting to gain entry into a vehicle.

According to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NAMUS), on Oct. 19, 2001, 70-year-old Jane Bousley disappeared after her appointment at Angie’s Hair Design. She was supposed to be heading toward Walmart or Lowes but she never showed up.

Police Make Arrest in Whitley County Church Burglary
The Williamsburg Police Department and Whitley County Sheriff’s Department say officers have made an arrest in a church theft case. Police say 39-year-old Brandon Gonzalez, of Williamsburg, tried to use a check he stole from a church to buy items at Walmart. Gonzalez was taken into custody at his home after a brief foot chase. Police said the incident began when Gonzalez burglarized the Hanging Rock Baptist Church in Whitley County. In addition to stealing a check, police said the church was damaged from Gonzalez breaking in. Police said additional evidence was found at Gonzalez’s home. Gonzalez was served with two bench warrants and was charged with running from police, burglary, possession of burglary tools, criminal possession of a forged instrument and tampering with physical evidence. Gonzalez was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.

On Sunday, February 18, 2024, at approximately 1:05 am, Knox County Deputies developed information that a large quantity of Methamphetamine and Fentanyl/Heroin was being delivered to the Corbin area in a gray Dodge Charger.
