Oceanside Collegiate Academy avoids closure, transfers to new district after legal dispute
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) — Oceanside Collegiate Academy won't close after the school and the Charter Institute at Erskine College resolved a long-lasting legal dispute. The decision to remain open was a reverse course during a Wednesday, June 5, board meeting by the school's district. Oceanside, as a result of the resolved dispute, agreed to undergo an audit to satisfy a corrective action plan by the Institute. Additionally, a unanimous vote by the Institute approved the transfer of Oceanside to a new district, the Limestone Charter Association.
