Rory McIlroy on Sunday showed he is more than just one of the world’s best golfers. The man can sing his lungs out too.

McIlroy and Shane Lowry won the team-format Zurich Classic of New Orleans held at TPC Louisiana in Avondale, La.

The winning tandem outlasted the duo of Martin Trainer and Chad Ramey in a sudden-death playoff. The two teams replayed the course’s par-5 18th hole. McIlroy and Lowry recorded a par, while Trainer and Ramey bogeyed the hole.

During the post-tournament celebration, an intoxicated McIlroy was urged to sing on stage in front of a handful of eager fans. The 34-year-old, who seemed hesitant at first, belted his best rendition of “Don’t Stop Believin'” by Journey. Just like in his playoff performance at the Zurich Classic, McIlroy did not disappoint.

This year was the first time McIlroy appeared at the Zurich Classic. McIlroy had agreed to participate with Lowry during a “really drunken lunch” together after the Ryder Cup last year. Both golfers had been part of Team Europe, which had dominated Team United States in the competition.

The drunken lunch turned out to be a very lucrative meal for McIlroy and Lowry. They each pocketed a cool $1.286 million for winning the 2024 Zurich Classic.
