MARQUETTE, Mich. (WBUP/WJMN) — The owner of the Marquette restaurant Chicago Beefs announced that he is closing down after a meeting with the location's landlords. "This isn't a joke and it's not an early April Fool's prank," wrote owner Mike Glenn in a social media post. "The reality is that this location comes with significant challenges and while I love a good challenge, I'm behind of rent and struggling to cover late payroll with nothing but hurdles in front of us."

MARQUETTE, MI— Law enforcement is warning the public about a widespread text scam. The Marquette Police Department says residents are getting texts allegedly from E-ZPass saying the system has identified an unpaid toll charge linked to their vehicle. The victim is told to click on a link to avoid fees or service disruptions.

Snowmelt increases ahead of wet days
MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - A few light snow showers pass across early this morning. Otherwise, mainly dry conditions through Friday. During this time, unseasonably warm air moves in causing more snowmelt. Temperatures climb into the 40s and 50s extending into the weekend. Watch out for unstable ice on lakes, ice jams along rivers/streams, and ponding of water. We’re still tracking a strong storm system to come this weekend. The area of low pressure will skirt west of the U.P. keeping us in the warm sector. This will result in a round of widespread rain Saturday morning followed by scattered showers. Rainfall amounts will range a quarter of an inch with isolated spots reaching near half an inch. There will be a transition to light snow on Sunday with amounts of less than an inch. It will become windy as the system pushes north into Ontario. Wind speeds will range 15-12mph with gusts of 35-45mph, especially Sunday.
